![]() Beyond the obvious connection to the current ‘crisis’, ‘Something in the Air’ has a significance to this day. To me, that’s pretty special, because when I began, I would have been happy if a total of 62 people read what I had written.īack to today’s feature song. Somehow, through the power of social media and by extending the reach through my blog at (by all means follow me and my daily post will be sent to your e-mail every day) I have been able to get Ted Tocks Covers read in 62 countries worldwide. It reinforces three of my most firmly held beliefs. This is the most important part of these features. It also opened a gateway to creating new friendships with people I would have otherwise never met. This allowed me to maintain contact with old friends, both near and far. Through one of the benefits of social media I have been able to share my posts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter (until I got banned). Perhaps the best part of ‘Ted Tocks Covers’ is it has allowed me to do several things I didn’t really consider when I began. It is still a work in progress, but it is a labour of love. This opened the door to my effort to improve to some degree. It also made me recognize that I needed to offer a little bit more in the way of depth to what I was writing. At that point, it became obvious what I was doing meant more, to at least a small audience. They were offering ideas for future posts and sharing their own memories of songs I was featuring. Other people were reading the posts, enjoying them…even commenting on them. Looking back to my original posts in what I originally called ‘Cover Your Face’, (because I shared it on Facebook only) I realize they lacked depth. Maybe a year? I knew it was therapeutic for me, so I kept at it. ![]() I didn’t know if it would last a week, or a month. When I began writing ‘Ted Tocks Covers’ I had no idea where it would lead. Since January 1, 2018, I have managed to share over 800 original songs and what seems like an infinite number of cover versions. Most of the time the anecdotes relate to how original songs were created, and by extension, how artists came to cover these songs. The purpose of Ted Tocks Covers has always been to spread my enjoyment of music along with a combination of stories related to a specific song. I won’t go on any rants here because I feel, in this case at least, it diminishes my purpose.Īs challenging as it may be in the present, I am going to maintain my commitment to sharing at least one song a day. Those who know me understand where I am coming from. ![]() Emotions are flooding through me rapidly. It is difficult to come to grips with everything that is going on right now.
